If you’ve never undergone a plastic surgery treatment before, then you may not be sure what to expect.

At Southwest Plastic Surgery & Med Spa, we want our patients to feel comfortable and confident at every stage of the treatment process.

So, as an example, let’s walk through one of our most common plastic surgery treatments: liposuction.

Preparing for Liposuction

To start the surgery process, you meet with our team for a consultation. Once we’ve familiarized ourselves with your medical history, concerns, and treatment expectations, we can give you the advice you need to prepare for your liposuction procedure.

For instance, if you smoke or consume nicotine regularly, you need to stop before your treatment. Nicotine can impede blood flow and negatively affect your results. We also recommend preparing your home for the recovery period.

Before you undergo liposuction plastic surgery in Kalamazoo, you need to reach your ideal weight. This is not a weight-loss procedure—patients need to reach their goal weight for the best results.

Because liposuction is an invasive surgical procedure, you’ll need to take some downtime. You won’t want to worry about cleaning your house and cooking after your procedure, so tidy up and meal prep before your treatment.
