Evolve X Transform by InMode: Body Contouring At Its Best

Body Contouring Treatment

More often than not, surgical procedures are chosen over alternative treatments to target stubborn fat deposits. While surgical procedures offer great results, they may require extensive recovery periods, cost a lot of money, and leave you with scarring. If you are one of the people who are not ready to commit to a surgical procedure, there is still hope for you. Body sculpting is a non-surgical procedure that offers great benefits and long-lasting results without any discomfort. It targets unwanted fat deposits that traditional methods fail to address. At Southwest Michigan Plastic and Hand Surgery in Portage, MI, we offer Evolve X Transform body contouring. If you would like to know more about the treatments we offer, give us a call or visit us to schedule a consultation.

What is Body Sculpting?

Non-Surgical body sculpting is a method of removing unwanted stubborn fat bulges from your body. This fat reduction treatment does well when compared to invasive surgery. Here are a few benefits you can enjoy when using body contouring as a body fat reduction treatment.

The Benefits Of Body Sculpting

Body contouring treatments have so much to offer. Here are just a few of the key highlights:

Treatments are Quick and Easy

Considering that fat removal surgery can be lengthy, body sculpting treatments can be done within a lunch break. They do not require any invasive surgical incisions. After treatment sessions, you will be able to get back to your daily routine as usual. If you live a fast-paced lifestyle, this treatment will suit you well.

Truly Natural Results

The results that you can achieve when using body sculpting treatments, such as Evolve X Transform, look natural. This is because the fat is not removed from your body unnaturally. Instead, your body uses natural processes to destroy and dispose of fat cells. This process does not happen immediately. Therefore, results are gradual, allowing your transformation to look natural. Evolve X uses heat to destroy unwanted fat cells.

Little Downtime and Recovery

Surgery often requires extensive recovery periods. They may also impose certain restrictions. One great advantage of a non-surgical body contouring treatment is there is little-to-no downtime. This means you can continue your daily activities while the treatment works within your body to produce results.

Non-Invasive

Body contouring can permanently remove unwanted fat deposits without surgical incisions. This means you won’t be left with any scarring after your treatment. You will also not need drains and compression garments. Overall, during and after the procedure you will have a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

What Is Evolve X Transform?

Evolve X is a non-invasive body contouring treatment. It is specifically designed to remove stubborn fat deposits from your body. The device that is used during your treatment utilizes monopolar radiofrequency energy to destroy fat cells. This body sculpting procedure removes fat safely while leaving surrounding muscle, tissue, and nerves unharmed. This results in the removal of your unwanted fat without causing any damage to your skin or body. Evolve X requires minimal downtime and won’t cause you any pain or discomfort during the process.

Benefits of Evolve X Transform

Evolve X’s versatile and complete body contouring technology makes it the ideal treatment method for eliminating stubborn fat, tightening flaccid skin and reducing cellulite. Get precise results that match your goals and let Evolve X transform your body!

Am I a Suitable Candidate For Evolve X Transform?

Clients who are close to their ideal BMI but want to get rid of pockets of stubborn fat will see the best results from Evolve X. Evolve X is safe for all skin tones. Pregnant women cannot receive Evolve X treatments due to the RF and the EMS which can disturb their pregnancies. However, post-partum women can benefit from the skin tightening and fat reducing results from Evolve X sessions. Clients with pacemakers should not get Evolve X treatments as the technologies used can impair the functioning of their device.

Body Contouring You Can Trust

If you have considered a surgical procedure to address your unwanted fat deposits and have been put off by the details of the surgery, there is an alternative option for you. Body sculpting is a non-surgical treatment that requires very little downtime and offers long-lasting results. There are many types of body fat reduction treatments available on the market. At Southwest Michigan Plastic and Hand Surgery, we offer Evolve X Transform by Inmode. This non-surgical treatment can remove unwanted fat from your body. Plastic Surgery Services in Portage, MI

While age, genetics, and injury may leave you feeling like there is no way of addressing your skin concerns, you can look and feel great again. There are many surgical plastic surgery procedures and non-surgical plastic surgery procedures that can assist with skin concerns where traditional methods fail. If you would like to know more about the plastic surgery services we provide in Portage, MI, give us a call. At Southwest Michigan Plastic and Hand Surgery, we offer a comfortable experience for everyone. Schedule your consultation today.

Our Plastic Surgery Procedures

The starting point for addressing your skin concerns is scheduling a consultation with us. We will make sure that your entire experience is comfortable and enjoyable. During your initial consultation, we will discuss your desired goals, medical condition, and an appropriate surgical plastic surgery procedure that suits your needs.

Non-Surgical Plastic Surgery Procedures

While not everyone is ready to commit to a surgical procedure, there is an alternative available. With non-surgical plastic surgery procedures, there are no incisions, stitches, or extensive recovery periods. If this sounds like the ideal type of treatment for you, we offer various non-surgical procedures.

Injectable Treatments

We offer many types of non-surgical injectable treatments that provide long-lasting results. Botox® and Dysport® are both used to treat wrinkles and fine lines on your face, neck, and hands. It improves the texture of your skin by restoring volume and elasticity.

Laser Hair Removal

If you have had no success with traditional methods, such as shaving, plucking, and waxing, you should consider laser hair removal. Laser hair removal requires just a few sessions to completely remove unwanted hair from your body and leave you hair-free for many years. Laser hair removal requires no downtime and does not leave you with skin rashes and ingrown hairs.

Surgical Plastic Surgery Procedures

When considering surgical plastic surgery procedures, it is important to note that incisions are used to achieve results. During any surgical procedure, we will administer either local or general anesthesia. This will ensure you are as comfortable as possible during your procedure. Another aspect of surgery is the recovery time it requires. After your surgery, you will need to allow time for your body to heal. This may include taking a few days off work and reducing strenuous activity.

Breast Surgery

Breast Reduction

Many women may desire larger breasts. However, women living with health issues caused by large breasts may have different desires. We offer breast reduction surgery for women that are suffering from back and neck pain and breathing problems caused by large breasts. If you feel like you are physically limited because of the size of your breasts, a breast reduction can help relieve the pain and discomfort you are experiencing.

Breast Augmentation

While some women are living with limitations because of large breasts, others are limited in many ways by small breasts. Small breasts may influence your clothing choices, while uneven breasts may make you self-conscious. During a breast augmentation, implants are placed in your breasts. This aims to make your breasts larger and places them in a more symmetrical and desired position. A breast augmentation can boost your self-confidence.

Breast Lift

Your breasts may sag due to breastfeeding, pregnancy, age, excessive weight loss, and genetics. Breast lift surgery helps to reshape and reposition your breasts. It also restores volume, tightens skin, and increases elasticity. A breast lift can be combined with a breast augmentation to achieve optimal results.

Facial Plastic Surgery

Many surgical plastic surgery procedures have been designed to specifically target your facial area.

Eyelid Surgery

Drooping or sagging eyelids can give your face a constant tired look. The effects of loose skin in this region may also affect your eyesight. This is a hazard and can make you look tired. Eyelid surgery targets the loose skin around your eyes and tightens it to improve your sight and general appearance.

Rhinoplasty

Your nose is the most prominent feature of your face. Being unsatisfied with your nose can impact your confidence and breathing. Rhinoplasty is also known as a nose job. It is a cosmetic surgical procedure that corrects the size, shape, and position of your nose. While rhinoplasty can assist with the appearance of your nose, it can also correct a deviated septum. This is a cartilage that runs vertically in your nose and can cause breathing issues.

Liposuction

Regular exercise and a balanced diet can help you maintain a healthy lifestyle. Some people may still suffer from unwanted fat bulges. These are stubborn fat deposits that traditional methods fail to address. Liposuction is a surgical procedure that reduces excess fat deposits and leaves your body looking and feeling toned. It also tightens loose skin and recontours your body.

Tummy Tuck

Loose skin around your tummy can be a result of pregnancy, childbirth, and significant weight loss. A tummy tuck is a surgical procedure that provides a flat and toned abdominal area. While a tummy tuck is not a substitute for weight loss, it can help you achieve a slimmer figure.

What a Facelift Can Do for Your Features

Facelift

A facelift is a procedure that reverses some of the effects of gravity and aging on your skin. When it comes to looking youthful, this is one of the most effective procedures available.

At Southwest Michigan Plastic and Hand Surgery, we perform skilled facelift procedures. Our experienced team members help you achieve the facial aesthetic that you desire.

What is a facelift? Here’s what you should know about facelifts and how they can benefit you.

What Is Rhytidectomy?

Rhytidectomy is the clinical name for a surgical facelift. Rhytidectomy addresses sagging skin, wrinkles, and loss of elasticity on your face.

Facelift surgery may be helpful as you age and experience increased collagen loss and skin damage. Several factors influence your skin’s elasticity as you get older, including genetics and sun damage.

Younger patients can get less-invasive facelifts to beat the clock and stay ahead of facial aging.

Types of Facelifts

There are several variations of facelift surgery that you can choose from. Each procedure has similar anti-aging benefits but is tailored to your individual needs.

Mini Facelift

Mini facelifts are ideal for patients with fewer signs of severe facial aging. During a mini facelift, we address smaller areas of your face and make smaller incisions.

During the procedure, we make incisions near your hairline to pull the skin on your face tighter. There’s often fat transfer and excess skin removal involved in mini facelifts to plump and smooth your skin.

A mini facelift is less invasive and has a shorter recovery period than a full facelift. Many young patients opt for a mini facelift to stay ahead of facial aging.

Traditional Facelift

Traditional facelift procedures mostly focus on your midface and neck. The middle of your face and your neck are both focal points, so enhancing them can significantly change your appearance.

During a traditional full facelift, we lift and tighten the skin on your cheeks and around your neck. This gives your face a more youthful appearance overall.

Deep Plane Facelift

During a deep plane facelift, we remodel deep tissues within your face. Instead of pulling your skin tighter over your face, we reposition muscles and fat deposits to give you a natural-looking youthful appearance.

Many patients and surgeons love deep plane facelifts because of their natural-looking, long-lasting results. Deep plane facelifts address deeper structures in your skin so the results do not fade quickly or easily.

Facelift Recovery Period

Less-invasive facelift procedures have shorter recovery periods than full facelifts and deep plane facelifts.

On average, most patients fully recover within four to six weeks after surgery, although some factors may affect that timeline.

You should always follow your post-operative instructions carefully. Taking these steps will help you get the best possible results and recover as quickly as possible.

Bed Rest

For the first 12 to 24 hours after facelift surgery, we recommend staying in bed with your head elevated.

Your body needs time and rest to heal the tissues that have been repositioned under your skin. Avoid getting up and walking around whenever possible for the first day after your surgery.

We recommend arranging for help with childcare and household tasks immediately after your facelift procedure. This will allow you to spend time healing and prolong your facelift results.

Keep Your Head Elevated

In the first few weeks after your facelift, you should sleep with your head elevated at a 30-degree angle. This will allow blood to flow throughout your body and properly heal your facial tissues.

Elevating your head can also increase your comfort during recovery. Once your face starts to feel more flexible and comfortable, you can go back to lying flat on your back.

Avoid Straining Your Neck

After a facelift, your head and neck must be treated with care. This means avoiding any strenuous neck movements, including turning your neck sharply.

The tissues in your neck will still be healing. In order for your results to last, you need to give them time to adjust to their new positions under your skin.

Benefits of Getting a Facelift

When you start your facelift journey, you should be excited. Facelifts can transform the aesthetics of your face and neck to make you look more youthful.

Consider all of the possible benefits when making the decision to get a facelift.

Reduced Wrinkles and Fine Lines

During a facelift, we pull the skin on your face and neck tighter to smooth any wrinkles or fine lines that have formed. This procedure is far more effective than surface-level wrinkle treatments.

Without as many wrinkles and expression lines, you will look more relaxed and youthful. We especially recommend facelifts for patients who have not had success with less-invasive or topical wrinkle treatments.

No More Jowls

Jowls form when the skin on your jawline sags and droops down. Jowls are a hallmark sign of facial aging. A facelift will tighten or remove this skin to permanently get rid of your jowls.

Natural-Looking Results

Our skilled surgeons work hard to make your results look as natural as possible.

Most people want to look youthful but not artificial. Facelifts are perfect for achieving this goal. The people around you may not even know that you have had a facelift if you don’t tell them.

Want Slimmer-Looking Arms? Get an Arm Lift!

Arm Lift

There are several reasons your arms may start to look different over time. Maybe you’ve lost a lot of weight, or perhaps you’ve experienced skin aging. These scenarios can both lead to loose arm skin and extra fat deposits in the area.

At Southwest Michigan Plastic and Hand Surgery in Portage, MI, you can get an arm lift to address your changing arms after weight loss, aging, or other life events. With our skilled arm lift surgery, you can have slimmer arms that match your desired aesthetic.

Who Needs an Arm Lift?

You are a good candidate for arm lift surgery if you have excess skin and stubborn fat deposits along your arms.

During your individual consultation, we look at your arms and examine the tissues. Most patients who seek arm lifts are approved. The procedure is simple and enhances one of the most visible parts of your body.

These factors contribute to patients considering arm lift surgery:

Major Weight Loss

Losing large amounts of weight in short periods of time can lead to loose skin. This creates a jiggly, untoned appearance on your arms.

Your skin cannot always adapt to the loss of volume underneath after major weight loss. An arm lift can create the tighter, more toned appearance in your arms that you have been working hard for.

Aging

As you age, your skin loses collagen and elastin. These are two important fibers that give your skin the ability to bounce back into shape after being stretched or impacted.

Aging can cause “bat wing” arms, or loose skin that gathers between your armpit and elbow. If this is an area you would like to improve, schedule an arm lift consultation.

Stubborn Arm Fat

There are two types of fat: subcutaneous fat and visceral fat.

Subcutaneous fat settles directly underneath your skin and creates visible fat pockets. This is the type of unwanted body fat that we can remove during your arm lift procedure.

Genetics plays a role in how subcutaneous fat settles on your body. Some families end up with more arm fat than others, even if they are otherwise slim and healthy.

Visceral fat is different. It settles around your organs and is typically less visible on the outside. We cannot remove visceral fat with surgery; only traditional weight loss will get rid of that.

If you have fat deposits underneath your arms that just won’t go away with diet, exercise, and a healthy lifestyle, an arm lift may be right for you. Our patients often feel relieved when their excess arm fat is gone, especially if they have spent many years trying to get rid of it.

How Arm Lifts Slim Your Appearance

An arm lift is similar to any other cosmetic lifting procedure. Much like a facelift or eye lift, an arm lift removes excess skin and tightens the area in question. This lifting technique helps your arms look more youthful and fit.

The procedure starts when we make an incision somewhere on your arm. We may start with the back of your arm or in between your biceps and triceps. Once the incisions are made, we use liposuction to remove excess fatty tissue. We also cut away any loose skin that is no longer needed to cover your arm.

We will give you compression garments to wear after surgery. These garments help the healing process go smoothly and retain the desired shape of your arms.

The combination of skin removal and fat removal gives your arms more shape and a slimmer appearance. You can enjoy looking fitter in tank tops, short-sleeved shirts, and swimsuits after your arm lift.

Arm Lift Surgery Recovery

During the arm lift recovery process, you should continue to wear your compression garments. You will need to wear them for four to six weeks to ensure optimal results.

During the arm lift recovery period, you should avoid intense exercise and other strenuous activities. You can do light movements that are required for daily living, such as showering or lifting small children.

After four to six weeks of arm lift recovery, you will come in for a follow-up appointment. We will evaluate your arms and let you know whether you can return to normal exercise and other more intense movements.

Most patients only need up to six weeks to fully recover from an arm lift. You will start to see full results after your recovery period, including smaller, more shapely arms.

Why Should You Get an Arm Lift?

Instead of spending long, grueling hours in the gym trying to shape and tone your arms, you can get ahead of the game. Arm lifts remove stubborn fat that may not go away on its own through exercise.

You can get the arm aesthetic you’ve always wanted without stressing over calories, weight lifting, and other toning methods.

We still recommend exercising and eating a healthy diet after surgery. In order to maintain your arm lift results, you will need to keep excess fat and loose skin at bay.

Several types of clothing look different after an arm lift. You can wear tops and swimsuits that show off more of your arms and shoulders without worrying about extra fat and loose skin weighing you down.

What Is Blepharoplasty? All About Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid

Your eyes are one of the first features people see when they look at you. It makes sense to want smooth, lifted eyelids throughout your life.

At Southwest Michigan Plastic and Hand Surgery, we perform skilled blepharoplasty to enhance the appearance of your eyes. We are located in Portage, MI, and welcome new patients to our practice.

What is blepharoplasty? Here’s what you need to know about aging, eyelid surgery, and recovery.

Why Do My Eyes Droop?

Over the years, the skin on your eyelids is impacted by gravity and other factors. Your eyelid skin is very thin, so it is quick to wrinkle and sag.

This can create a “droopy eyelid” appearance on one or both of your eyes. For some patients, eyelid sagging can get in the way of their eyesight, leading to vision problems and frustration.

Some people have droopy eyelids because of genetics. Maybe you were born with low-hanging eyelids that cover part of your eyes. This can affect patients of all ages.

Drooping, wrinkled, and sagging eyelids can all make you look older and permanently worn out. If you want to regain your youthful eye appearance, blepharoplasty can help.

How Blepharoplasty Works

Blepharoplasty is an eyelid procedure that removes excess skin from one or both eyelids.

Before the procedure, we will evaluate you to determine whether you need upper eyelid surgery, lower eyelid surgery, or double eyelid surgery. It’s common to get blepharoplasty on either your upper or lower eyelids, but in some cases, both eyelids need tightening and refining.

During surgery, we mark the areas around your eyes where we will make tiny incisions. Then, we make the incisions and remove the extra skin that causes your eyelids to sag and droop. We may tighten the existing skin around your eyes to give them a more youthful appearance as well.

Our patients love the enhanced aesthetic of their eyes after their blepharoplasty procedures are complete.

Eyelid Surgery Recovery Process

Blepharoplasty is one of the easiest surgeries to recover from. Since the incisions we make are so small, you likely won’t need much time to heal.

Immediately after the procedure, we give you ice to keep you comfortable. You may also need to use ice packs at home for the first day or two after blepharoplasty.

We recommend sleeping in a sitting-up position in a recliner chair to give your eyelids plenty of blood flow to heal. It should only take a few nights before you can lie down in bed again.

Avoid putting in contacts or other internal eye fixtures for at least one week after your procedure. Your eye area needs to heal before you place anything in your eyes.

We perform follow-up appointments both the day after surgery and seven to ten days after the procedure. This allows us to remove any remaining stitches and make sure that your healing process is going well.

The Benefits of Getting Blepharoplasty

Eyelid surgery can enhance your appearance in numerous ways. Consider the benefits of blepharoplasty when deciding whether to undergo this procedure.

Youthful Eyes

Sagging, wrinkling, and drooping are often associated with aging eyes, and these concerns can prematurely age your appearance. Even if you do not have many other wrinkles and fine lines, your eye area is a focal point on your face.

With blepharoplasty, your eyes can look youthful and bright again. This surgery smooths the skin around your eyes to shave years off your overall appearance.

More Energized Appearance

Without drooping and wrinkled eyelid skin, your eyes should look fresh and awake again.

Drooping eyelids can give you a fatigued look, but eyelid surgery can restore your fully energized appearance. It can make you look more friendly and approachable as well. If you want to make your eyes more inviting and awake, blepharoplasty is the procedure for you.

Reduce Vision Problems

If your sagging eyelids are in the way of your vision, blepharoplasty can resolve the problem. Some insurance companies may cover the cost of your procedure if you need the procedure for vision purposes.

Being able to see clearly again will reduce your frustration in everyday life. This simple procedure can allow you to see more of the world at one time.

Small Incisions

Your eyes are fairly small in proportion to the rest of your body, so the incisions we make for blepharoplasty are nearly invisible. Some patients do not have any visible reminders of their procedures.

Small incisions are also easier to recover from, making this procedure convenient and simple.

Short Recovery Period

Most cosmetic surgeries take at least two months to recover from, but blepharoplasty recovery only lasts for a few weeks in most cases.

There are minimal restrictions after eyelid surgery. You can return to work and other responsibilities very soon after your procedure.

The short recovery period makes this procedure convenient and approachable for most patients. If your life will improve by getting eyelid surgery, it is well worth the investment.

More Control over Facial Expressions

When your eyelids hang down over your eyes, it can be hard to make appropriate facial expressions. Other people may think you look sad, angry, or unfriendly.

Blepharoplasty helps you regain control over how your face looks to others. You can make more dynamic expressions without drooping eyelids getting in the way.

How Breast Augmentation Can Give You the Aesthetic You Desire

Breast Augmentation

Everyone has different goals for their appearance, and breasts are no different. If you’re not satisfied with yours, breast augmentation is the best way to get the chest shape and size you desire.

At Southwest Michigan Plastic and Hand Surgery in Portage, MI, we offer natural breast augmentation. We will help you select the best procedure for your aesthetic goals and current chest size.

When you’re considering breast augmentation, it is important to know the basics and what to expect.

What Is Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation is an outpatient surgery that modifies your breast size and shape to be more flattering to your figure and enhance your overall appearance.

There are different types of breast augmentation. Depending on your goals and medical history, we will help you decide which is best for you.

Saline Implants

Saline breast implants are filled with a sterile saltwater solution. If the saline solution in these implants happened to come into contact with your system, your body would absorb it naturally.

This type of breast implant creates a firmer, rounder, perkier appearance than other implant types. Saline implants are a great option for patients who want very round, firm breasts. They are popular among many younger patients and patients with lots of existing breast tissue.

Gel-Filled Implants

Silicone breast implants, now known as gel-filled implants, have a more natural feel and appearance than saline implants. They are made of an exterior shell that contains a gel substance.

Gel-filled implants are less firm than saline implants. When you feel your breasts after getting these implants, they will feel very similar to natural breast tissue. Many patients prefer this natural shape and texture that enhances their chests.

Gummy Bear Implants

Similar to silicone gel-filled implants, gummy bear implants have a natural feel and a more flexible shape than saline implants.

Many patients favor gummy bear implants because they are firm and stable. The gel inside gummy bear implants remains inside for longer periods than other implants.

Your breasts will have a firmer and perkier appearance after getting gummy bear implants. During your personalized consultation, we will discuss whether gel-filled or gummy bear implants are better for you.

Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation

Instead of traditional breast implants, you can opt for a fat transfer breast augmentation. This procedure involves harvesting excess body fat from other areas of your body and transferring the fat to your breasts.

We start by performing liposuction in areas with unwanted body fat. The liposuction tool sucks the extra fat out of your body and into a tube. We might target one or more of these common areas:

  • Waist
  • Arms
  • Abdomen
  • Thighs
  • Calves
  • Knees

These areas of your body are likely to hold on to stubborn fat that gets in the way of your desired appearance.

We then process the body fat to remove any other fluids and purify it. Then, we transfer this purified body fat to your breasts in carefully targeted areas to create a more flattering shape. We typically perform small or medium fat transfer breast augmentations.

Due to the nature of the procedure, we do not inject a large amount of fat. This makes fat transfer a good procedure for patients who only want to add a little volume to their breasts.

Consider a Breast Lift and Augmentation

Many patients get breast lifts along with breast augmentation. While implants or fat transfer can increase the volume of your breasts, these procedures will not necessarily lift your breast tissue.

During a breast lift, we make incisions near your breasts and move the tissue upward to give a perkier appearance to your chest.

Breast lifts are designed to keep your breasts in a higher position on your chest. This gives your chest a more youthful look, especially if you have undergone pregnancy, breastfeeding, and aging.

Who Should Get Breast Augmentation?

Good candidates for breast augmentation include patients who want to bump up the volume of their breast size. If you desire a rounder or more natural-looking breast shape, we can recommend specific types of implants to meet your needs.

There are a few factors that determine whether you are an ideal candidate for breast augmentation.

Good General Health

You should be in good general health before undergoing this procedure. We will evaluate your medical history to determine whether you are a good candidate during your initial consultation.

There are some things you can do to remain in good health before surgery:

  • Stop smoking
  • Eat a nutritious diet
  • Exercise often
  • Avoid alcohol and recreational drugs

These steps will increase your chances of approval for breast augmentation.

Clear Schedule for the Recovery Period

Breast augmentation is an outpatient procedure, which means that you do not have to spend multiple days in the surgery center afterward. However, you should still plan to take a few weeks off from your normal routine to recover.

If this does not work with your schedule, we recommend waiting for breast surgery until you can carve out some recovery time.

Past Pregnancies and Breastfeeding

Many patients have lost breast volume and experienced a change in their chest shape from pregnancy and breastfeeding. If you are done having children and want to reclaim your breast appearance, visit us soon!

Schedule Your Breast Augmentation Consultation in Portage, MI
